It is so hard to believe it's been 50 years since we all graduated from MHS with all our dreams for the future.  I must admit the last 50 years have personally treated me well.  Steve & I will be celebrating our 48th wedding anniversary this August.   After marriage we immediately moved to Spokane but now hope to move back to the Moscow area.  We have been looking at homes and property but so far have not found what we want.   50 years ago... who would have thought any of that was on the horizon!

We are both retired now... well almost.  Steve retired 2 years ago and I last year.  The insurance company where I worked for almost 30 years was purchased by another insurance company in Texas.  Immediately after retiring the Texas folks put me on retainer while they are doing the conversion to their systems.   They have now extended the contract for another 15 months.  It is relatively easy work in that I can do it all by e-mails and phone calls and it does keep my mind active.

Our lives circle around our two children and six grandsons.  They give us so much enjoyment and we are very fortunate they both live within about a 4 hour drive.  Our son Jason, his wife Rachel and their two boys age 15 and 11 live in Moscow.  Jason continues to work for the National Park Service at the Nez Perce Historical Park at Spalding outside of Lewiston and Rachel is an English teacher at our alma mater Moscow High.   Their lives center on music.  It is so great to hear the youngest play “House of the Rising Song” on his guitar for his Papa and Nana.

Our daughter Alicia, her husband Justin and their four boys age 10 through 4 live in Wapato, WA.  Alicia was just accepted the position of Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning for the Yakima school district and Justin is a civil engineer for the Yakama Nation.  Their lives center on sports with the four boys.   It is fun to watch each boy progress year by year in their individual sports in which they are involved.

Having survived and conquered a bout with breast cancer almost 4 years ago, I have realized life is very precious and way too important to sweat the small stuff.  Everything always works out for the best and we are living our lives accordingly.

We want to extend a special Thank-you to the committee in putting this reunion all together; and especially to Bill and Connie in keeping up the website.

Not much has changed in the last 5 years.  Steve & I are still working at our respective jobs and will be celebrating our 43 wedding anniversary this August.  We now have 5 grandsons (no granddaughters) ages 6 months to 10 years.

Our children and grandchildren continue to give us great pleasure.  I don't think there is anything better than spending the day with one or all of those 5 wonderful boys.  We are so lucky that they all live within 4 hours of us.

Steve & I are hoping to retire (at least from our present jobs) in a couple years and move back to Moscow.  We get back to Moscow on a regular basis to see Steve's parents and our son and his family.  Moscow holds a special place in both of our hearts.

We continue to enjoy camping and ATV riding.  We can't resist a ride to the top of one of Idaho's beautiful mountains for a magnificent 360 degree view!

We are sorry we won't be able to attend the reunion this time due to prior commitments.  But, we want to send a special thank you to the committee for all the hard dedicated work putting it all together.  Both Steve & I have enjoyed looking at the website and getting caught up with everyone lives.  A special thanks goes to Connie & Bill for keeping the website up and running.

See you all at the 50th!

After graduation from Moscow High I attended business school. In 1967 I married fellow classmate Steve Lyon. We moved to Spokane WA where Steve completed his schooling at Spokane Community College. I went to work for the Washington State Welfare Dept. I worked there for about 4 years until I became a stay-at-home mom. In 1980 I went back to school and got my degree from Spokane Community College. I went back to work in 1984 as a computer programmer for North Coast Life Insurance Company and have worked there ever since.

Steve & I have 2 great children and are blessed with 3 wonderful grandsons. Our son, Jason, age 34, is married and lives with his wife Rachel and 2 sons Caleb, 5, and Eli, 1, in Moscow ID. He works for the National Parks Service located at Spalding ID. Our daughter, Alicia, 30 is married and lives with her husband Justin and son Quintic, 7 mos, in Wapato, WA. She is completing her Ph.D. from WSU this summer.

Steve & I are enjoying our empty nest years and spend a lot of time camping and ATV riding. Our grandchildren are a wonderful part of our lives and we enjoy each of them greatly. We are planning to return to Moscow when we retire as we have always thought of Moscow as 'home'.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone this summer.
