Spouse : Karla

Kids :

My daughter passed away due to cyctic fibrosis.  She was 28.  We were blessed with an extra 3½ years by a double lung transplant, but she eventually rejected the new lungs.

My son, Mike, turns 40 this September.  He drives truck for a Hermiston company - is doing well.

I retired as soon as I turned 62.  I spend my time helping my wife with her business (Riverwood Feed Store) and taking care of our rental property.  I also get a lot of joy out of our 4 grand children.  The oldest, Heather, graduated from high school this spring.  Anthony, who will be a sophomore this fall, is quite the guitar player.  Already in a band.  I think he is going fare with his music.  Brittany, a junior this fall, is doing outstanding in school and is participating in the Miss Teen Washington pageant.  Elizabeth, 8, is going to be the challenge.  Too cute - gets away with a lot!

Bought a 19' boat thinking I would be doing a lot of fishing in retirement, but it has been pretty limited.  Need to change that.

Wish all my classmates the very best.  See you at the reunion!

40 years in a few paragraphs - quite the challenge.

Two year college at the U of I, Two years in the service, 5 years married - divorced. Two kids. Back to college 1 year at Eastern Oregon State in LaGrande, Oregon, 1 year off, then back to school at Portland State University for 3 years. Finally got a degree in Business Administration in 1977. Passed ½ of the CPA exam November 1978. Remarried in 1978 - Wife Karla.. Passed the rest of the CPA exam in April 1979. Public Accounting for 1 1/2 years, then assistant controller for 2 years for Food Development Corporation - involved in building turn-key irrigated wheat farms, dairies and potato & onion storage facilities - mostly in Libya and Saudi Arabia. Controller for a heavy construction company for > 1 year before it tanked. Out of work 7 months. Washington State Auditor for almost 15 years - Regional Audit Manager at one point. Left the state job. Bought 5 acre farm, my wife & I built a 12 stall barn and started a horse boarding facility - big arena, round pen etc. - my wife's dream. Somewhere along the way, a feed store started in our shop building - business is growing fast. Worked 3 years as an insurance accountant for a startup health insurance company - Cascade East Health Plans in Hermiston - Finally quit as they never stuck to our agreement that I would be half-time only. Now working ½ time for a corporation in Pasco, Washington.

Wish you all the best. If you're in the Tri Cities - I'm in the book - come see the horses.

Paul
