Yesterday I spoke with Barb Shaw, General Manager of Super 8 Motel in Moscow, and she offered a better rate for us. Anyone who books a room for 3 nights gets these rates:

$49.99 plus tax for 1 bed (queen) for 2 people
$54.99 plus tax for 2 beds (double) for 2 people

If you ever came to MHS and were looking for a warm and reassuring face outside of the classroom or, maybe, someone to collect your "parent prepared" absence excuse, you probably remember Agnes Weeks. Mrs. Weeks passed away on February 23, 2010. The link above will take you to a page placed on the MHS1964.com site.

• We received a call from an old friend and classmate Ray Schumacher this morning with some sad news. Ray's wife Sue passed away on Tuesday (the 22^nd). In November, Ray & Sue would have celebrated their 20th anniversary. Please keep Ray and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
  

• Bruce Davey sent in an email address update. I put his new address on his page.
• Susie Williams Borowicz also sent along an email address update. I put it on her page.
  

• We received an update and some great picturers from Launa Oaks Morasch. I've updated Launa's page.
  

• I received an update from Linda Wilson Scoggin. Linda says:
  Hi - this is an update: new mailing address and new email address. I'm now retired! (which means I can get my mail at home without going to the post office) and (which means I can do what I jolly well please and update information :-) Thanks. Linda .

• I received another note from "A Friend of the MHS Class of 1965", along with the obituary for Linda Deesten Carrico. Linda died Saturday, August 1, 2009. I've placed Linda's obituary on her page.
  

• I received a note from "A Friend of the MHS Class of 1965", along with the obituary for Ron Headrick. Ron was one of our classmates but joined the Navy in 1964 and didn't cross the stage with us.
  

• Lindy Welfare Wellyn found us. We though she was among the lost but her note says, "I am neither dead nor disappeared!". I placed her contact information updates on Lindy's page.
  

• Bonnie Martinson Brainard was interviewed by David Johnson, a reporter from the Lewiston Morning Tribune. Linda Watts Newberry sent along the article and we're happy to share it on the Class' site.

Near my home is a 200 acre field of organic sunflowers being grown for their oil. The T-shirt says: "Spokane Chiefs, 2008 Western Hockey League Champions." Inland Empire RULES!!! Best wishes, Ken

Jim and I have almost finished remodeling our house.

Mom and Dad Kindschy ar both 96 and still in their home in Spokane (Dad turns 97 in Nov!).

I'm working at Carlson Wagonlit Travel - now Travel Leaders. Really enjoy it. Australia and New Zealand are specialities. Spend lots of time with friends and familty.  We don't think we will ever have grandkids.

Me (Ken Caldwell), Harriot Hagedorn, Steve Talbott, Andrea Peterson Beckett, Linda Watts Newberry, Barbara Boyd Gropp, Tim Brown, Sally Hylton Weaver and Denny Mulalley. Bonnie Martinson, Sherla Thompson and LeNelle Martin were there too but had to leave before the picture. It was a lot of fun.

MORE FYI: Using the excellent search function Bill built into the website, I discovered that 67 of our classmates are living in Idaho, and 55 live in Moscow, or within a half hour drive! Next time I'll contact them all. Should be able to double today's turnout with enough advanced warning. Ken also passed along a new Email for Wayne Westberg. I put the detail on Wayne's page.

FYI: Merry retired from 30 years of teaching school in Pullman, and is now a flight attendant for Horizon Airlines. When not working she goes all over the world on Horizon passes. Next week she'll head to Kenya to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. Ken also passed along Contact information updates for Merry Lew and Harriot. I put the detail on their pages.

Sherla (Thompson) Francis' husband Phil passed away about a month ago of a massive heart attack. Many of us knew Phil, also a MHS alum. Barb suggests that hearing from classmates might bring a little sunshine for Sherla.

  John writes, "I had a chance to recently see Big Lar - it was a real heart felt visit at the memorial service for his Step Father - Raynor Smith.

• An update from Connie Dahmen Sever.
  
  It's been a while since we've added news of what's been going on around our house but.. it's time to put finger to keyboard...

  Last Thursday (the 14th) we brought Bill's Mom to our home so we can give her the security and care she needs. She's 84 and her health seems to be failing.

  Things like that are bound to cause a few changes and a bit of stress but... when coupled with the Cottonwood trees that are exploding up here... I chose to try a decongestant to help relieve my stuffy head and burning eyes.

  We now know that any kind of remedy with a "Decongestant" included in it is a very bad thing for folks with heart issues, especially those with Pacemaker - Defibrillators. Decongestants act as heart stimulants and... with the faster heartbeat... BOOM.. My defibrillator gave me a jump start. Once the cardiologist figured out what caused the event, I received a pretty stern scolding from him and got to spend the night in the hospital.

  I'm home and feeling fine, shopping, etc... I don't need to see the cardiologist for another 90 days (about normal).... but... weeks like the last one need to be few and far between.

  Don't tell anyone but.. we may be getting to old for this stuff!

Our little company (NetBest Internet Services) continues to grow. This week we acquired some nice shinny new high-tech hardware (dual-core, high speed servers) and I thought MHS1965.com would be a good candidate to transfer to the new machine. If you're reading this.. the new site is up and running.

  What a weekend,
  
  This week-end (18^th - 20^th), Connie and I were prepaired to host a "Family Reunion" at our home here in CdA. Folks began to arive around dinner time on Friday... and we had a nice spagetti feed set in the back yard.
  
  At about 9:00^pm.... Connie's defibrulator went off and we were off to the hospital...  she was released late Saturday afternoon... so much of the weekend was a blurrrrrrrr.......
  
  Doctors tell us that the pacemaker - defibrulator has done it's job and that, as far as we know now, there's no additional damage to her heart.
  
  We're going to have to be a lot more careful about our tendancy to "over-do".
  
  Meanwhile.. family members pitched in.. and the family reunion was a good one.
  
  Connie got to enjoy Saturday night and Sunday morning events... by relaxing with the family; greatful to have her home...    Bill
