Connie Rae (Dahmen) Sever RIP Connie

Our sweet Connie joined family, our parents, sisters Barbara Joe Davis, Nancy Katherine Bosse, and our children, Billy, Laura and William in Heaven on February 11th, 2023.

Connie was born March 18, 1947, to Eugene and Hilda Dahmen of Moscow, ID and raised a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church along with six siters and her brother. Connie became a medical miracle child… undergoing successful open-heart surgery at the age of nine… As a teen, she went to work with General Telephone Company, starting as a Telephone operator and graduated from Moscow High in 1965.

Connie married Bill Sever on October 8 th, 1966 and became an Air Force wife. The following year, Bill’s US Air Force tour was over, and they returned to Moscow where they both went to work for GTE. After 30+ years and many new locations, Bill (1995) and Connie (1996) both retired from GTE In Dallas TX and then returned to North Idaho (Coeur d Alene) to make our home.

Few of God’s faithful have experienced greater challenges in their lives than Connie. Even fewer, have faced those trials with more inner strength, optimism, and courage. Connie shared these strengths with family and friends every day… particularly in the past many months as she fought to regain health and return home. We trust our memories of her will help us all as we deal with the loss of our wonderful wife, mother and friend.

Connie is survived by Bill, husband of 56 years and our son David of Coeur d Alene, Sisters Betty Morasch of Moscow, Mary Ann Jones of Post Falls, Debbie (Jim) Su'euga of Dayton WA, Donna of Moscow and Brother Jeff of Portland OR along with many cherished nieces, nephews and friends.

Not much has changed in the last five years.  Bill and I are enjoying our retierment.  He keeps busy runing a consulting, web-design business and I still enjoy reading, crafts, garding and cooking. We enjoy the slow pace our lives now follow.

Our son David lives close and thow there are no grandkids yet, we have two granddogs.  He says maybe someday for the grandkids.

Spouse: Bill Sever (Class of '64)

Bill and I - Christmas 2009On the day we graduated, I started working for the phone company (GTE) as an operator until October of 1966. At that time, I married Bill Sever (Class of '64) and joined him in Spokane while he finished his commitment to Uncle Sam.

That part of our lives over, we moved back to Moscow and both went to work with GTE. We spent 30 years traveling all over the Northwest and finally landed in Dallas, TX until retiring in 1996. We then moved back to Northern Idaho and settled in Coeur d'Alene.

Bill and I were blessed with four beautiful children, even though three of them were only with us for a short time.

William Earl (Jr) June 10th, 1968 Died shortly after he was born.
Laura Louise November 29th, 1968 Adopted at 18 months old. She filled our lives with joy and happiness until she died in 1984.
William H (Will) July 27th, 1972 Will showed us and those around him what kindness was. Will died in a swimming pool accident in June of 1991.
David Clinton March 20th, 1980 A surprise.... David continues to bring us much pride and happiness.

He keeps telling me not to plan on on grand-babies any time soon but that's OK with me.... I'm too young to be a grandmother.
