Mary Margaret Gregory, 79, a resident of Meridian, Idaho, passed away on March 26, 2026. She was born on December 27, 1946, in Moscow, Idaho, the daughter of Walter and Ruth Lundquist. Mary was born and raised in Moscow, Idaho. She often spoke about growing up in Moscow. Mary had many fond memories of living on East First Street. She liked to share stories about helping her father in his hardware store and about the mischief that she and her younger brother, John, would get into. Mary graduated from Moscow High School in 1965. Mary attended Pacific Lutheran University, her freshman year of college before deciding to transfer home to the University of Idaho in Moscow. Mary was a member of the Alpha Phi Beta Zeta Chapter sorority on campus. She cherished her time in the Alpha Phi sorority at the University of Idaho. Mary would describe what it was like to have all of the girls sleep together on the sleeping porch. She enjoyed dressing up for dinner each week. Mary graduated with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education in May 1969. On February 7, 1970, Mary married Douglas Gregory of Meridian, Idaho. Five years later, they welcomed a daughter, Jennifer, into their family. The family lived in Washington until 1985 when they moved to Meridian, Idaho. Mary became a legal secretary and spent many years working for different lawyers. She greeted clients when they entered the law firm and she managed the many phone calls the firms received. Mary’s warm, caring personality, and organizational skills made her invaluable to those she worked with. Mary was a devoted member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church of Boise, Idaho for 41 years. She very rarely missed Sunday service. Mary loved the joy she received from attending church including the friendships she gained. She found happiness socializing with other members of the congregation. Mary and Doug helped with the youth group and Mary was often found helping to organize communion and weddings. When it was time for the holiday bazaar, Mary would be in the kitchen helping the other women to make lefse (a Norwegian pancake). Mary remained a devoted member of her congregation her entire life, helping and serving those around her. Mary enjoyed reading books and magazines. She was a wonderful cook and loved finding new cooking gadgets. Mary is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Gregory; her brother, John Lundquist (Julie); her brother-in-law, Keith Gregory; and her sister-in-law, Janice Gregory-Flock (David); Mary was proceeded in death by her parents, Walter and Ruth Lundquist. A memorial service for Mary and Doug will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026 in the Gibson Chapel at Cloverdale Funeral Home, 1100 N Cloverdale Rd, Boise, Idaho 83713 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made on behalf of Mary to: Shephard of the Valley Lutheran Church |
