Maybe there are classmates whose lives went according to plan. I am not one. Thus far, it has been a wild ride with unplanned adventures, twists, and turns. Life has been much more exciting (and at times terrifying) than I envisioned when we graduated. My two sons, Justin Cegnar and Erik Cegnar are the best part of my life. In spite of my dubious parenting skills and chaotic life, they have become wonderful young men and are truly a joy. Both graduated from U of I. Erik is an electrical engineer, specializing in design, who owns a business in Moscow. Justin has a tech business and lives in New York City.

I own a real estate brokerage and still love helping my clients solve real estate problems. Along the way, I have had wonderful professional experiences and met gifted, interesting people, many of whom have become cherished friends. I have been blessed with opportunities that included owning a veterinary practice, working as a chamber of commerce CEO, owning a heavy construction business, teaching small business management, and teaching high school science.

My first marriage ended in divorce in 1981, a painful learning experience I would not recommend. I was very blessed in my second marriage to Jay Jackson. We had 32 wonderful years together until his passing in 2019 after 17 years of struggle with Frontotemporal Dementia.

I am now at a peaceful place, living yet another adventure as a widow. I share life with my German Shepherd, Marti, a Ragdoll cat, L.C. and my two mules, Kalli and Sally. When not working, my "go to" activity is riding my mules on mountain trails and camping. I love to read, hike, swim, play racquetball, travel and occasionally get into mischief. A couple of my favorite recent trips include floating the Middle Fork of the Salmon River and camping on North Vancouver Island, which included kayaking with Orcas.

Our class has lived through a wild and exciting time in history. We once thought the two electric typewriters in the typing lab were great technology. We went from slide rules to computers on our phones. Technology has been a blessing and a curse. We were hippies! We lived through wars, a global pandemic, and some crazy political times. It has been an amazing ride with more to come.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone and catching up. I can't wait to hear all about the journeys and adventures.
